HomeWarming is a program offered by Efficiency Nova Scotia and Clean Foundation, sponsored by the Province of Nova Scotia, and Nova Scotia Power.
The goal of the program is to ensure that every Nova Scotian is able to keep their home comfortable and affordable. We know that you have a lot to worry about as a homeowner. Between finances, children, upkeep, repairs, shopping, taxes, relationships, work, school, and maybe even finding some time for yourself, there’s just not enough hours in the day. We don’t want heating your home to be one of your concerns.
Sadly for many Nova Scotians, this is precisely the case. Lots of homeowners in Nova Scotia, particularly those with older homes, are suffering from the effects of energy inefficient houses. This means that the house is not holding heat in or out the way it could be with the proper upgrades. This energy inefficiency leads to expensive heating or cooling bills. Most times these problems can be fixed with relatively simple solutions like draft proofing and insulation, but when you are paying a high energy bill you often can’t afford to resolve these issues.
That’s where the HomeWarming program comes in.
If you own a home that you live in year round, and you make under the qualified yearly amount, you are most likely eligible for free energy efficiency upgrades.
It’s really that simple. If you qualify, a Certified Energy Advisor will conduct an assessment of your home and see where it could benefit from upgrades to improve comfort and efficiency. Together you will schedule appointments to make the upgrades that have been approved for your home. You don’t have to do anything other than be there for the assessment, and while the work is being done.
It’s all provided to you free of charge, and you get to start saving money!
If you are ready to be more comfortable in your home and save on your energy bill, fill out the application or give us a call.
